At Junk Debunk we do one main thing...remove spam from your inbox.  We use a combination of both proprietary and widely known technologies to do this job.  Over 800 tests are applied to each and every message and profiled to a known database of probabilities and proven algorithms.  This database is updated each and every day from Hundreds of Thousands of messages from the previous day, profiling whether messages delivered were legitimate or indeed spam.  So in effect, our system is a self learning and self evolving artificial intelligence code base.

Various Spam Facts

• Spam exceeded normal e-mail in July 2003, as represented as both by bandwidth and message number.
• Up to 3/4 of all spam email has forged reply addresses, estimating that the spam volume is now up to 1 billion messages a year.
• The increases in marketing messages are outpacing the growth in personal e-mail. By 2008, expect to get about 5 marketing e-mails for every single personal message.
• FTC gets 7,500+ spam complaints per day
• The average business e-mail user receives 50 spam messages a day, and in three years that number will swell to 275. In 2008 we'll waste 40 hours a year deleting e-mail, compared to 4.2 hours in the year 2000. That will cost the average business in the future $2,720.00 per in-box, compared to $145.00 in 2000.
• Computer security firm Symantec estimates that between 65 and 70 per cent of email traffic is spam. While spam itself doesn't necessarily carry a computer virus, there is a connection, because many email virus programs involve a "mass-email" element.
• It is widely estimated that 90 per cent of spam comes from offshore sources.
• 86 per cent of email addresses that are publicized on websites are 'harvested' by spammers, and receive unsolicited email.
• 63 per cent of 'remove me from your list' requests are not honored.
• 66 per cent of spam messages have falsified information in the 'from' or 'subject' headings or in the text of the email.
• 52.46% of spam sent in January 2006 was related to pharmaceutical products.
